PRIVACY & COOKIES

We run a bar list. We do not sell anything here, there are no accounts, and we are not building a profile on you. What we do have is analytics, because we want to know which bars people actually read about and where the list gets confusing. Here is exactly what that means.
Microsoft Clarity
We use Microsoft Clarity to see how the list gets used. It saves how you move through the page and replays that visit back to us as a video, so we can tell whether the filters make sense and whether the map is doing its job. Microsoft receives and stores that recording, and their privacy statement covers what they do with it: privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement.
We also tag a few specific actions, so we do not have to sit through every replay to answer a simple question: which filter you tapped, which map pin you clicked, which bar you opened directions for, whether you used the address lookup, and whether you tapped the ON AIR sign. That is the whole list. It tells us which bars people care about, not who you are.
Cloudflare
Cloudflare serves this site and counts page views through Cloudflare Web Analytics. It is the quieter of the two: no cookie, no fingerprint, no cross-site profile. It is how we know the list pulled 245 visits without knowing a thing about the 245.
The address lookup
Type an address into Find Mine and that address goes to Nominatim, OpenStreetMap’s geocoder, which turns it into a map pin. We never store it and it never touches a server of ours. The map itself is drawn with OpenStreetMap data served by CARTO, so loading the map sends CARTO a request too.
Skip the lookup and everything still works — the list just will not sort by distance.
Cookies
Clarity sets cookies so one visit reads as one visit instead of five. That is the only reason a cookie exists here. We run no advertising, no cross-site tracking, and we sell nothing to anybody. Clarity does share an identifier with Bing, which Microsoft owns — we tell no one who you are, but it is fair that you know the link is there.
Switching it off
- Clarity honors Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends the signal, we do not record you. Nothing to install.
- Turn off cookie-based analytics industry-wide at optout.aboutads.info.
- Blocking or clearing cookies works too, and so does any ad blocker. We are not going to pretend to mind.
The bars are not ours
Every bar on this list is somebody else’s business. Links out to Instagram, Google Maps, Wanderlog and the bars themselves land on sites with their own policies and their own cookies. Once you are there, you are on their turf.
